The desk lengths. A 1m lead reaches from a wall socket to a PC under the desk; 2m covers a router on a shelf to a TV or a console below it. Between them they are the two most-used Ethernet lengths in any building.
The range spans Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a at 1m, 1.5m and 2m, mostly U/UTP with shielded S/FTP and U/FTP options where the cable has to run beside mains. Colours run to grey, black, blue and yellow.
Measure before you buy: a lead that is slightly too short is useless, and one that is much too long leaves a coil behind the desk that catches dust and feet. Brands are Cables Direct, StarTech, Target and Lindy.

1-2m Cables Buying Guide and FAQ
This 1-2m Cables range covers network cables. Below are the common questions.
Which network cable do I need?
Cat6 is a sensible all-round choice for a fast, reliable wired connection. For most home networks, Cat6 is a safe pick.
What length of cable should I buy?
Measure the run and add a little slack so the cable reaches comfortably without strain. Shorter cables keep things tidy, while longer runs suit connecting rooms or reaching a router across the house.
Will a wired connection be faster than Wi-Fi?
A wired network connection is usually faster and far more stable than Wi-Fi, with lower latency, which is ideal for gaming, large downloads and video calls. Where you can, wire your main devices for the best results.
