Cat5e Cables
Ubiquiti UISP Cable Pro 305m Cat5e
In stock
Cat5e carries a full gigabit, and for most homes and small offices that is the whole story: the broadband line is slower than the cable, so a higher category changes nothing you can measure.
It is also the thinnest and most flexible of the patch cables here, which matters when a lead has to turn a corner behind a desk or run through a tight trunking. Lengths start at 0.25m for patching between adjacent ports and run through 1m, 2m, 3m and 5m to 10m. Most are U/UTP, with a few F/UTP foil-screened versions for noisier environments, in grey, black, blue and red.
Buy Cat5e when the job is gigabit and the run is short. Buy Cat6 when the cable is going into a wall and has to last, or Cat6a when the run must carry 10 Gigabit end to end.
Brands are Target, Cables Direct, Hama and Lindy.
Cat5e Cables Buying Guide and FAQ
This Cat5e Cables range covers network cables. Below are the common questions.
Which network cable do I need, CAT5E?
Cat5e handles gigabit speeds and is fine for most homes. For most home networks, Cat6 is a safe pick.
What length of cable should I buy?
Measure the run and add a little slack so the cable reaches comfortably without strain. Shorter cables keep things tidy, while longer runs suit connecting rooms or reaching a router across the house.
Will a wired connection be faster than Wi-Fi?
A wired network connection is usually faster and far more stable than Wi-Fi, with lower latency, which is ideal for gaming, large downloads and video calls. Where you can, wire your main devices for the best results.
