Arc B580
The Arc B580 is Intel’s mid-range card in the Battlemage generation, built for 1080p at high settings and 1440p with adjustment, with 12GB of memory.
That memory figure is the headline. Competing cards at similar prices commonly ship with 8GB, and at 1440p in texture-heavy modern games 8GB is increasingly the limiting factor — the frame rate drops sharply when a game exceeds it. 12GB gives the card room that its price does not suggest.
Two other genuine strengths: very capable video encoding including AV1, which makes it good value for streaming and video work, and strong performance in games built on DirectX 12 and Vulkan.
The caveat: performance in older DirectX 11 and DirectX 9 titles has historically been less consistent than the competition, though Intel’s drivers have improved substantially. If your library is mostly older games, check specific titles.
Settle this before buying: Arc cards expect Resizable BAR enabled in the motherboard BIOS. Without it performance drops noticeably, and some older boards do not support it.
