be quiet! designs cases the way it designs its coolers — around noise — and the range makes one choice explicit that most manufacturers leave implicit.
Pure Base is the mainstream line, and most models come in two versions: a standard one with a closed front panel and sound-damping material, and an Airflow version with a mesh front. That is the trade in the open: damping material absorbs noise but restricts intake, while mesh breathes better and lets more sound out. If you are running a warm processor or a large graphics card, choose Airflow; if the machine is modest and sits beside you, choose the damped version.
Silent Base takes the damping further, with thicker insulation and decoupled drive mounts. Dark Base is the flagship, with a modular interior.
Across the range the fans included are be quiet!’s own, which is a meaningful part of why these cases are quiet out of the box.
Check graphics card length, CPU cooler height and radiator support against the specification before ordering.
