AMD Zen 6: what we know so far
Zen 6 is AMD’s next Ryzen generation, reported under the Medusa and Olympic Ridge codenames, with desktop chips expected between late 2026 and 2027. The two claims that matter: up to 24 cores on the consumer flagship, and, far more importantly, the same AM5 socket your current Ryzen uses.
That socket continuity is the whole story for upgraders. A Ryzen 7000 or 9000 owner on a decent AM5 board should be able to drop a Zen 6 chip in after a BIOS update, sell the old CPU, and skip the motherboard-and-memory tax entirely. It is the cheapest generational upgrade path in desktop PCs, and it is why we point gamers at AM5 X3D chips today without hesitation.
Every Zen 6 Ryzen we range will appear here with UK prices on launch day. Until then, the current Ryzen line above the fold of our processors range is the one to buy.
