Keyboard Accessories

The accessories that go around a keyboard, and each solves a specific problem.

Wrist rests are the most useful. They support the heel of the hand so the wrist stays straight rather than bending upward over the front edge of the board — which is the posture that causes most keyboard-related discomfort. Gel rests are cool and firm, memory foam conforms and is softer, and silicone rests are easy to wipe clean. Match the height to your keyboard: a rest that is too low for a tall mechanical board makes the angle worse rather than better, which is why Keychron sells rests matched to specific models.

Dust covers matter more than they sound for boards that sit unused in workshops, labs, reception areas or spare rooms. Dust and crumbs under the keycaps are the most common cause of a key that stops responding.

Keycap and switch pullers let you clean under the keys or swap switches on a hot-swap board without damaging anything.

The range covers Keychron, Kensington, Fellowes, MSI, StarTech and Hama.
