DPI describes how far the pointer travels for a given movement of the mouse. Modern flagship sensors advertise 20,000, 26,000 and beyond.
Worth being straightforward: almost nobody plays above 3,200 DPI. Competitive players typically use 400 to 1,600, because a lower setting makes fine aiming easier. So the headline number is not a setting you will use.
What it does tell you is that the mouse uses a current flagship sensor, and those are genuinely better in ways that matter: perfect tracking with no acceleration or smoothing, a higher maximum speed before the sensor loses the surface, and consistent behaviour at low settings.
The specifications worth comparing at this level:
Polling rate. 1,000Hz is standard; 4,000Hz and 8,000Hz models report position more often, which reduces input latency slightly.
Weight. Lighter mice are easier to move quickly, which is why competitive mice keep getting lighter.
Shape, against your hand and grip — still the thing that affects your aim most.
The range covers Keychron, ASUS, Corsair, MSI, Dell and be quiet!
High DPI Mice (20000+) Buying Guide and FAQ
This High DPI Mice (20000+) range covers mice. Below are the common questions.
What should I look for in this mouse?
Look for a comfortable shape, a reliable sensor and the right weight for you.
Does DPI really matter?
Almost any modern mouse has a sensor far more accurate than you need, so do not chase the biggest DPI number. A shape that fits your hand and a weight you like matter more. Most people game at a few hundred to a couple of thousand DPI.
Wireless or wired, which is better?
Today's wireless mice are fast and low-latency with the freedom of no cable, while wired mice never need charging and cost less. For most people a good wireless mouse is worth it, and wired remains a solid value choice.
