Laptop Chargers
A replacement charger has to match two things: the connector and the wattage. Get the wattage too low and the laptop will charge slowly, or not at all while you are using it.
There are three kinds here. Manufacturer adapters from Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, ASUS and Apple are the exact original part — the safe choice if you know your model, and they run from 45W up to 330W for mobile workstations. USB-C Power Delivery chargers work with any laptop that charges over USB-C, which now covers most modern machines and means one charger can also handle a phone or tablet. Universal adapters from Powercool and Hama ship with a set of interchangeable tips for older barrel-connector laptops.
To find your wattage, read the label on the old charger or the underside of the laptop. Going higher than the original is safe — the laptop only draws what it needs. Going lower is not.
