Lindy
Lindy is a long-established British manufacturer specialising in connectivity — cables, adapters, converters, switches and signal extenders.
The reason to choose Lindy over a generic equivalent is consistency. Connectivity is an area where cheap parts fail in ways that are hard to diagnose: an adapter that works at 1080p but not 4K, a cable that drops a network link intermittently, a converter that works on one machine and not another. Lindy publishes specifications properly and backs much of the range with long warranties, which is why the brand is common in AV installations and offices rather than on a bedroom desk.
The range here covers USB to Ethernet adapters and converters, which add a wired network port to a laptop that has none — genuinely useful, since a wired connection is more reliable than Wi-Fi for video calls and large transfers.
Check the speed a converter supports: USB 2.0 adapters cap at 100Mbps, while USB 3.0 models carry full gigabit.
