4K Webcams
A 4K webcam captures at 3840×2160, four times the pixels of 1080p.
Be clear about where that pays off, because it is not on a routine video call — most conferencing platforms compress heavily and many cap the transmitted resolution well below 4K regardless of your camera.
Where it genuinely helps: recording and streaming, where the full quality is preserved; digital zoom and cropping, since a 4K sensor can crop to a tight 1080p frame with no loss, which is how the group conferencing systems here frame a room; and large-screen presentation.
Two things affect how you look more than resolution does. Sensor and lens quality decide performance in ordinary indoor light, and a good 1080p camera beats a poor 4K one in a dim room. And lighting — a desk lamp facing you will improve a video call more than any camera upgrade.
Look for a privacy shutter, autofocus and a suitable field of view.
