ASUS ExpertBook

ExpertBook is the ASUS business laptop range, competing with ThinkPad, Latitude and EliteBook and generally undercutting them.

What it offers is the business specification proper: military-standard durability testing, a fingerprint reader and TPM for secure login, a keyboard built for typing volume, and a full port selection — business machines still include HDMI and USB-A, which thin consumer laptops have dropped.

The naming is a tier letter then the size. B1 and P1 are the mainstream workhorses, B3 and B5 step up in build and features, and Flip marks a convertible whose screen folds back into tablet mode. The number after indicates the screen size.

Who it suits: a small business buying several machines, or anyone who wants a laptop built to last three or four years of daily carrying rather than one styled for a shop shelf.

Check whether memory is soldered or on a slot on the specific model, since that decides whether it can be upgraded later.
