With its hot-swappable drives and configurable RAID options, it delivers both speed and data redundancy for demanding projects.

Key Specifications

Configurable RAID for Speed and Protection

The LaCie 2big RAID offers three RAID configurations to match your workflow needs. RAID 0 stripes data across both drives for maximum speed, ideal for video editing and large file transfers. RAID 1 mirrors your data, providing instant backup if one drive fails. JBOD mode lets you use the full 8TB as a single volume. This flexibility means you can prioritise performance or protection depending on your project requirements.

Hot-Swappable Drives for Continuous Workflows

The hot-swappable drive bays allow you to replace failed drives without powering down the system. This feature is crucial for professionals who can’t afford downtime during critical projects. Simply remove the faulty drive and insert a new one while the array continues running. Combined with the included LaCie RAID Manager software that monitors drive health and sends alerts, you’ll always know the status of your storage system.

Professional Build Quality and Compatibility

Built with a sturdy desktop chassis and finished in professional black, this array includes Kensington lock slots for physical security. The Iron Wolf Pro drives provide 7200 RPM performance with long-term reliability. It’s compatible with both Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.12 Sierra through 10.14 Mojave, making it suitable for mixed-platform environments.
